Vic/Van Days 2 & 3

Ohmanohmanohman Kings of Leon wooooooo!

Got up not so bright or early to go to Van. We had planned to leave around 9 I think, maybe 10? Anyways we totally watched Gilmore Girls til 10 on W (there’s 2 episodes on Sunday mornings and my dad and I watch them every week and text back and forth during….cause we’re soooooo awesome), then leisurely made our way to the ferry terminal. The lady in the ticket booth said there was a chance we would make the 11 and as it turned out we were the seocnd last car on the boat! wowow! We’ve been the last car before so it wasn’t THAT impressive but still we were pretty jazzed. My dad was feeling kinda sickly and not really that into going to the show, as he usually is before we go to concerts, just a little case of old-man self-consciousness I think, but we had an early dinner at the Moxie’s in the hotel and were both feeling rather sleepy and mellow around 7 o’clock when we decided to head over. The opening band, The Whigs, had already started when we got there, meaning I totally could have gotten a hoodie without waiting in line had I got cash!!!! I didn’t though so was a little sad. Maybe I’ll try ebay a bit later, they don’t sell merch on their website boooo. The show was super effing rad, and we sat down the whole time which was nice for my dad, there was a direct path of people sitting in front of us so we could see the stage perfectly, and we were pretty far away so it was nice to just chill and enjoy the show. They played sooo many songs from the first 3 albums, including pretty well all my favourites so I was one intensely happy camper. Charmer is pretty much the greatest song in the world. Their encore was rad, Slow Night, So Long played first then 4 other songs, equally rad. They switched the setlist around a bit which was cool, prob because they had the other show in Van too. Basically, it was awesome and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My dad loved it too, once he was there he had a great time, which I knew he would. I think he has a little man crush on the lead singer. I never did before, but I think I have a bit of a crush on him now too.

We went home fairly early the next day and then I hung out with two super rad chicks in the evening. (it seems weird to include this since you two are pretty much my entire readership, but to leave it out would diminish the wicked awesome evening we had!) After enjoying some starbucks, we went to Langford!! ….where we turned around in a parking lot and drove back to town. Then it was on to Esquimalt!! …where we stopped at a drugstore, to buy some toiletries. Then I had to get me some ocean, so we walked along the breakwater, ALL THE WAY OUT and back, and I didn’t get pushed off by any psychopaths at any point!! Did I mention I’m afraid of EVERYTHING? I’m pretty sure that’s the first time I’ve ever walked the length of the breakwater, so yay for me.
